Discrimination is against the law

Freedom Senior Services and its affiliates (“Freedom”) complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex (consistent with the scope of sex discrimination described at 45 CFR § 92.101(a)(2)).

Freedom provides

People with disabilities receive reasonable modifications and free appropriate auxiliary aids and services to communicate effectively with us, such as:

  • Qualified sign language interpreters
  • Written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, other formats)

People whose primary language is not English receive free language assistance services, which may include:

  • Qualified interpreters
  • Information written in other languages

Full policy

Freedom Senior Services and its affiliates (“Freedom”) complies with all applicable civil rights laws and does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or related conditions), gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, genetic information, veteran status, or any other legally protected status in admission to, participation in, or receipt of services and benefits under any of its programs and activities. This policy applies whether carried out directly by Freedom or through a contractor or any other entity with which Freedom arranges to carry out its programs or activities.

Expanded protections

  • Freedom explicitly prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, in alignment with Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.
  • Freedom ensures that all programs, activities, and services are provided without discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or any other related medical condition.
  • Telehealth services provided by Freedom must comply with nondiscrimination provisions, ensuring equal access for individuals with disabilities, including compatibility with assistive technology and accessible platforms.

Free aids and services

Freedom provides free aids and services to ensure effective communication for individuals with disabilities, including but not limited to:

  • Qualified sign language interpreters.
  • Written information in accessible formats (e.g., large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, or other requested formats).

Language assistance

To ensure equal access for individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP), Freedom provides free language assistance services, including:

  • Qualified interpreters.
  • Information translated into other languages as required.

Notice and tagline requirements

Freedom will prominently post notices of nondiscrimination and taglines in the top languages spoken by clients to inform them of the availability of free language assistance services.
